Betty Nungester created the lovely Easter table decorations.

Everyone had a fun time learning new Cha Cha steps and moves instructed by Gil Aromas of The Ballroom Company!
NWODC gained a lot of new and re-newed memberships!

Dear Members,

I am most pleased to announce that three members have stepped forward to serve on the Community Outreach Committee: David Morris, Annie Brock and Carolyn Wielinski! Thank you! They will serve through Spring 2014.

WooHoo!!The Dance Instruction Committee at this time includes: Chair: Carol Ann Howell, Lana Staley, Jay Romanowicz, Jackie and Steve Mierzejewski Thank you for your service!

There is one more day for you to elect to serve for a few meetings in person or phone/email over the time span of September, 2013-January, 2014 on any committee, but particularly, the Hospitality Support Committee and the Event Planning Committee.

Still hoping for a minimum of three people to help with ideas for improving hospitality.  The dispersion of the negative perception about NWODC really does need to be spearheaded by the members and assisted by the Board.

Since I had not heard from anyone concerning the Event Planning Committee. I started that process myself. Maybe it will be easier to consider if I show you what I did in one hour.  (It took me four more hours making 4 flyers which isn’t part of the committee job!)

September 14th is Celebrating Color (Songs with Color in the Title)(Looking for 10 good ones to intersperse)
September 28th is Ladies Choice Night (Idea from David Morris)
October 12 is UNKNOWN at this time
October 26 NWODC Halloween Party “Dancin’ in the Mansion!” Carol Ann Howell will coordinate decorations and treats!
November 9 NWODC Denim and Diamonds(Denim-Country Music for Waltz, Cha-Cha, East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing, Country -2  and Diamonds-Ballroom Music) (Total of 10 featured selections interspersed) Attendees may elect to wear their denim and bling!
November 23 is Ohio State-Michigan Border Battle, no lesson
December 7 Holiday Dinner and Dance (Theme Undecided at this time) So is ANYONE willing to help me come up with simple themes for October 12, November 23, and the Holiday Dinner & Dance??  PLEASE! We can just exchange emails or talk on the phone. janet_frederick@yahoo.com / 419-266-4146. Please consider helping out. It is much more fun to do this with someone else!Best,
Janet : )

Flyer for Aug17th

______________________________________________________________________________

With great sadness we bid farewells to our friend Don McKivett whose uncompromisable free spirit manifested both in his life and in his dancing. Engaging and entertaining personality, interesting conversationalist, a curious mind and last but not least – a man you wanted to to spend time with. He passed suddenly in the night hours of Sunday June 23. Visitation and service for Don took place Friday, June 28th in Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania.

Farewell party was in Tom Wilson’s house in Sylvania on Saturday, June 29th.

Dear Members of the Elmwood Team,
Here is the Thank You flyer sent by Elmwood Athletic Director, Michele Story. Along with the flyer was a check! It still give me chills. I told Michelle from the get go that we would do it for free. Michele’s note to me stated that the students were sending the donation.
Last night the NWODC Board accepted the donation to be placed in a fund labeled “Community Outreach.” Elmwood’s request and initiation of the workshop allowed NWODC to “walk its talk. ” Our purpose is dedicated to the promotion of social dancing, including swing, hustle, ballroom, latin, country western and line dancing for the entertainment, fellowship and interest of the constituent members. We just included “The Community!
To say “Thank YOU!” to each of you is an understatement. Feel the JOY of giving without the expectation of return! It is stunning!
Best regards,

Janet
